2021 Community Impact Awards Announced

Congratulations to the Recipient of Our 2021 Community Impact Award!

In 2021, many members of our Kids for Kids community took initiative and really stepped up to the plate to help out. While the past couple years have been challenging for many, it’s also made us realize at the Kids for Kids Foundation that it’s important to recognize those who have gone above and beyond in their support. This year we presented our second annual Community Impact Award to a member with impressive dedication to our mission!

The Community Impact Award

The Kids for Kids Community Impact award was started in 2020 as a way to recognize outstanding dedication from our committee members at a time they were greatly needed. Each year, a deserving member of our Kids for Kids Committee is selected and presented with the award to thank them for all their time and effort. The recipients of the award are chosen based on their activity within the Kids for Kids Foundation throughout the year, as well as how they highlight the Kids for Kids mission and lead by example within their communities. Last year, we presented the award to Paul Lambardozzi, one of our founders and Vice Chair of Events, and Isabella LiMandri, a member of our Junior Committee.

Visit our Committee Page and Junior Committee Page to meet all of our incredible members – and if you’d like to see your name or that of your child listed there too contact us at membership@kidsforkidsnyc.org for more info on how to join!

Meet Our 2021 Community Impact Award Recipient

Brian Kaminskey

This year, we presented our 2021 Community Impact Award to a member of our Kids for Kids family who has really incorporated our mission in everything he does. As part of our mission to support children and families struggling with medical challenges, we work to find ways to raise funds and awareness for places like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

Brian Kaminskey has gone above and beyond with his involvement on the Kids for Kids Committee in 2021, and it certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed. In fact, Brian has incorporated Kids for Kids and our mission into many different areas of his life. His office at Northeastern Bus Rebuilders has graciously hosted meetings for our Junior Committee and even has a wall dedicated to Kids for Kids so visitors and colleagues can learn about our foundation and the work we do!

Brian also shares the family-oriented mindset at the core of our Kids for Kids mission and got his sons Brian Jr. and Johnny involved right from the start. In their time at Kids for Kids, Brian Jr. and Johnny Kaminskey have taken on leadership roles in our Junior Committee and recruited friends and classmates to join the organization, creating our Long Island chapter. Brian and his sons have also found a way to incorporate their passion for racing into their work with Kids for Kids: we now have a partnership with Monticello Motor club and their Varsity Race Team! Seeing our Kids for Kids logo on race cars and their racing suits is a pretty awesome sight, and a great way to raise awareness for our foundation!

Brian has been a major player in many of our partnerships, including our new partnership with Cohen Children’s Medical center that was established in 2021. He took a lead position in the fundraising event we hosted for them this past August: our first-ever Rally & Car Show! Many families and supporters of Kids for Kids joined us for a day of exciting and exotic cars, and the event was a great success thanks to the efforts of committee members like Brian and our volunteers!

In addition to being personally involved in many Kids for Kids partnerships and events, Brian has also connected his generous circle of like-minded friends and colleagues to the Kids for Kids Foundation. As a result, many of them are hosting their own fundraisers to support us and our beneficiaries! In April 2021, Bobby Hotaling and the Hotaling Insurance Services team hosted their own fitness fundraiser to get their employees moving, get a little competitive, and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. After their efforts raised over $140k, the Get Fit for St. Jude Challenge expanded to include six companies, collectively raising $200k for St. Jude!

This is all thanks to Brian Kaminskey and his generous promotion of Kids for Kids to those in his life who want to make a difference!

As Kids for Kids continues into the future, dedicated members like Brian Kaminskey are crucial in furthering our mission to help children and families. It has been an honor to work alongside Brian throughout 2021, and we are inspired by his dedication to family and making an impact in his community!
